Some wedding days feel like they’re kissed by the universe—and Zaye and Milo’s was one of them. The Timberlodge at Arrowhead Golf Club, nestled among the trees just waking up from their winter slumber, was bursting into full bloom under a crystal-clear May sky. Sunshine poured through the branches, and the venue’s iconic willow tree stood tall and proud as the backdrop for a ceremony filled with emotion, music, and magic.
The ceremony was a personal, soulful celebration of Zaye and Milo’s love. Zaye’s mother played live music, setting the tone for a heartfelt handfasting ritual that brought a tear to more than a few eyes. And in a cinematic twist that would make any Star Wars fan swoon, the couple walked back down the aisle hand-in-hand to “Across the Stars”—a fitting nod to the saga of Anakin and Padmé, this time with a much happier ending.
With the sun beaming down and not a cloud in sight, we chased the shade for portraits—and found sanctuary once again beneath that generous willow tree. But our favorite hidden gem? A quiet, tucked-away boardwalk just a short golf cart ride from the lodge. There, in that secluded spot, Zaye and Milo had space to simply be together. They laughed, danced, and even gave us a sneak peek of their choreographed first dance. Their energy was contagious, and I was lucky to capture it alongside our incredible videographer duo, David LaNasa and Travis Michael.
The reception was a seamless continuation of the day's rustic spring charm, brought to life by Taylor and her team. Every detail felt like a reflection of Zaye and Milo’s spirit—from the cozy décor to the photos of their beloved (and surely mischievous) furry family members placed thoughtfully at each guest table. While their pets couldn’t make it to the party, their presence was certainly felt.
The celebration was full of fun and laughter, with guests enjoying giant Jenga, cornhole, and the ever-popular photobooth and DJ combo from Beckers DJ Service. It was one of those receptions where you could feel the love and joy radiating in every direction.
But one of the most touching moments came after the last song had played and the guests had gone home. In the quiet of an empty lodge, Zaye and Milo shared a final private dance—just the two of them. No camera flashes, no crowd, just the soft sound of music and a future stretching out in front of them, bright and full of hope.
Zaye and Milo, thank you for inviting us into your story. May the force (and your love) always be with you.
