Wedding at The Mansion at Knox Farm
Buffalo, NY
Some wedding days just have a glow about them, and Madeline and Nicholas’ was one of those rare days. From morning until night, the sunlight poured in and wrapped everything in the kind of golden light you dream about for a wedding.
The day started at the First Baptist Church of Hamburg, where Maddy and Nick got ready with their closest family and friends. One of the most touching moments came when Maddy shared a first look with her dad. He handed her a heartfelt letter, and before long the tears started flowing. It was sweet, emotional, and such a meaningful way to begin the day.
The church itself added its own story. The nave is undergoing a major renovation to make room for a growing congregation, but the work wasn’t quite finished in time. That meant a little bit of character in the background of the ceremony. You could almost say the wedding was partially sponsored by Kingspan Insulation Panels.
The florals, on the other hand, needed no imagination. Maddy’s family runs Lilies of the Field flower farm, and they filled the day with the most stunning arrangements. Everywhere you looked, their flowers added color, beauty, and a personal touch that made the celebration feel even more special.
After the vows, everyone headed over to the Mansion at Knox Farm. Surrounded by the rolling hills and trees of Knox Farm State Park, it was the perfect backdrop for the evening’s festivities. With the larger guest list, the reception was held outside, and guests were treated to an incredible dinner of BBQ from This Little Pig Smokeshow. It was unique, flavorful, and a big hit.
Inside the mansion, Maddy and Nick practiced their first dance and cut their cake, while outside the kids lined up to take on a giant piñata. The mix of laughter, good food, and the glow of summer made the atmosphere relaxed and joyful.
As the sun started to set, we stepped away with the couple for some blue hour portraits. The light was soft and dreamy, and it was the perfect way to close out a day that had been beautiful from beginning to end.
