FAQ
What is your photography style?
Candid with light direction.
For the important moments while getting ready and of course wedding portraits, I will lightly guide my couples to get the best photos. But your energy is important to me and to my style of work. My goal is to capture you as you are with each other.
I encourage doing an engagement session with me before the wedding to get familiar with me as a photographer and get comfortable being in front of a camera.
The rest of the wedding day, I'm looking for candid moments of emotion. I believe the best photos are taken a few seconds before and after you see the camera pointed in your direction. My favorite images of the wedding day are ones where the couple are enjoying their time with wedding guests, blissfully unaware their moment is being captured.
Where are you based and do you travel?
I am based in Buffalo NY but I'd be happy to travel to Rochester, Syracuse, the Finger Lakes region and everything in between.
If you are outside my normal area, please reach out and in most cases I can travel to your location.
There is no additional travel cost if your wedding is in the Buffalo and Rochester areas.
Do we need a second photographer?
If your getting ready locations are at the same venue or close drive to each other and you're expecting less than 200 guests, I can absolutely photograph your wedding without a second photographer.
To ensure the day flows well, I recommend discussing the timeline in detail with me during the consultation and before the wedding day. Especially with just myself as your photographer, it's important to budget enough time for each part of the day.
If your timeline has overlap where multiple things are happening at the same time, or photos need to be taken with a limited window of time in multiple locations, a second photographer will be necessary to provide comprehensive coverage.
Bear in mind some ceremony venues have movement restrictions where it would be difficult to capture all the special moments without a second photographer. This would also apply for elaborate events during the reception where I can not be in two places at once.
Having a second photographer is also having a built-in safety net for the wedding day in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
What is a highlight video and do we want one?
The 3-6 minute wedding highlight film and 9-15 minute featurette film are beautifully crafted short videos that captures the essence of your day, blending key moments, emotions, and details into a cinematic keepsake.
The biggest difference between booking video as an add-on versus a separate videography team is consistency in style and timeline. The amount of coverage will be full day and not a separate timeline based on how long the videographer is available.
While a full wedding film often includes full edits of the ceremony, speeches, and events, the highlight films focus on creating a concise, artistic summary that you can easily share with friends and family. The featurette film however, with it's longer length, will include longer shots of your ceremony, speeches and first dances.
When will we get our photos and video?
Your will receive an online gallery link with all your photos and final edited video within 4-8 weeks (usually less depending on the season of your wedding). You can download all the photos and the final video from the gallery, share them, and also order prints, cards and albums.
How many photos will we receive?
For a full day wedding, you will receive between 700 to 1000 fully edited images.
The amount of photos varies based on wedding party size, family size, how many guests in attendance, length of your wedding day, and if there's any special events planned.
What if my wedding plans are longer than one day?
I would be happy to photograph your pre and post wedding events! Sangeet, mehndi, rehearsal, friends and family gatherings, etc.
Please let me know during the inquiry and consultation if you're planning a multi-day wedding to confirm availability.
Is there anything we should do as the couple?
You have enough on your plate planning your wedding. My thorough approach to wedding coverage will provide you with enough photos to tell the full story of the day. I like to be a part of your planning process and I encourage you to let me know of any special relationships, unique details and other intricate plans of the day I may not be able to anticipate.
For family portraits, I ask that you assign a family member or member of the wedding party who can coordinate the rest of the family combinations. Remember that some venues have time limitations before or after the ceremony for photos.
I do ask that you prepare both of your details including two sets of stationary, attire, rings, jewelry, shoes, perfume and colognes, watch, cufflinks, unworn socks, and any special trinkets and heirlooms. If your florist can have the bouquet ready and leave you some floral pieces along with your details it really adds to the photos as well.
What are the next steps?
You can fill out the contact form and schedule a consultation session over video chat.
We'll sit down and get to know each other. I want to hear about your love story, how you envision the day and how I can capture that day for you.
Once we've decided that we're a good fit for each other, contract will be signed and I ask for a 50% retainer (33% retainer if booking video as well) to save the date.
Happily cross Photographer off your to-do list.
