Buffalo Wedding Videographer
The Perfect Middle Ground
Why Highlight films Are Ideal for most Couples
Only 40% of couples hire a videographer, and not having one is the most common wedding regret
Your wedding day is one of the most memorable days of your life, and preserving those memories is essential. While traditional full-length wedding videos have long been the go-to choice, more couples are discovering the magic of wedding highlight films. These short, beautifully crafted films offer the perfect balance of emotion, artistry, and storytelling, making them an ideal choice for couples who want to relive their special day without the commitment of a lengthy video and additional vendor.
Many couples find themselves torn between the desire for a wedding video and the practicality of what they will actually watch. While a full-length video can be lovely, it often ends up sitting unwatched due to its length. A highlight wedding film, however, distills the essence of your day into a cinematic recap. The featurette cut can include most of your significant moments: your vows, speeches, laughter with friends, first dance, and candid, fleeting emotions that make your day memorable.
Highlight and featurette films are not just easier to revisit; they’re also perfect for sharing with friends and family. It’s a modern solution that still delivers a deeply personal and emotional keepsake.
These films are also perfect for couples who value a blend of photography and video without the need to hire a full videography team. With our hybrid approach, you get the best of both worlds: stunning wedding photos and a cinematic keepsake that you’ll cherish forever.
How the Process Works
Two Photographers, Dual Roles: On your wedding day, I take on the role of primary photographer, capturing still photos while also gathering key video moments. Meanwhile, my second photographer focuses on video, using a Sony FX3 cinema camera used in run-and gun style Hollywood production to ensure your heartfelt emotions are beautifully captured. Together, we work seamlessly to create a balanced and comprehensive visual story, coordinating our roles dynamically throughout the day to deliver a complete visual narrative.
Single Photographer, Dual Roles: On occasion, when the stars align, and your wedding is not unmanageably hectic and spread out, I can and will shoot your whole day myself, photography and highlight or featurette video. Watch one of these full days here.
Short Film add-on
The best moments of your wedding day can be captured in still photography, but the context and emotions that created that moment look best in motion.
Choose between a 3-6 minute highlight film for a quick, cinematic recap or a 9-15 minute featurette film for a fuller, more immersive retelling of your day.
Whether you’re envisioning a romantic, heartfelt revisit of your day or one filled with laughter and celebration, we’re here to bring your story to life. Let’s create something unforgettable together!
Full Length Film Add-On
When short and simple is not your wedding vision
Our full length wedding film is designed for couples who want to experience their day in a richer and more complete way than a highlight film can offer. The highlight film condenses the entire wedding into a polished cinematic retelling that focuses on emotional beats and visual storytelling. The full length film slows the pace and lets you enjoy the important moments as it naturally unfolded.
This 30 to 60 minute edit follows the same cinematic style and pacing as the highlight film, but it gives every major part of the day the time it deserves. You will see full recordings of milestone moments such as your first look, full ceremony, first dances and speeches. These long-form sections are blended with beautifully crafted cinematic footage from throughout the day, creating a complete and immersive viewing experience.
If the highlight film feels like the movie trailer, the full length wedding film feels like the feature presentation. It captures not only the high points, but also the emotions, reactions and real-time memories that make your wedding day unforgettable. This is not your parent's traditional two hour wedding documentary film collecting dust in the basement.
What's next?
For the 2025 season, we shot 20 weddings and produced 10 wedding films.
Looking ahead to 2026, we have 24 weddings booked, including 17 with videography.
I'm proud to be working with Kal for drone videography in 2026, with four of these upcoming weddings incorporating his aerial flair during the ceremony processional.
